Venezuela’s Guaido Installs Himself As Interim Leader
The opposition congress has seized on continued outrage and disgust in the country as the congressional chief, Juan Guaido, has sworn himself as interim leader of the country until fresh elections are called.
The swearing in took place as hundreds of thousands marched on the capital Caraccas yesterday. The United States, Canada and other right-leaning Latin American countries have thrown their support behind Guaido.
In response, President Nicolas Maduro has said that he has cut off all diplomatic ties with the United States and is demanding that all US diplomats leave the country in in 72 hours.
The situation is being watched very closely by international observers and the rest of the world
