BLP Calls Jail Time For DLP Ministers

BLP Members of Parliament wants justic for the previous Democratic Labour Party (DLP) administration, found guilty of wrongdoing, to be punished accordingly.

The Private Members’ Business resolution surrounding the report of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) 2013 – 2018, was revisited by the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) and it showed levels of distrust and mismanagement by the previous administration. Some members say that jail time should be applied to those who have committed serious offences while in office.

Minister of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy Kirk Humphrey, said that the DLP administration damaged the country’s image on the international scene.

“It is a crying shame, the image of Barbados on the international stage has been damaged badly but now is being restored by a new Barbados Labour Party administration. A lot of damage [was] done to this country over the last ten years,”

However, the Mia Mottley-led administration is working well to restore that image, which will aid in attracting investment to help bring the country out of its economic doldrums.
