More Awareness Needed
In the month in which Grenada celebrates “Child Month,” sexual abuse survivor Michelle Sabrena Alexander, is on the verge of releasing a new book to bring awareness of sexual abuse to a younger audience. The book launch will take place on October 30th at the Grenada Trade Center Annex Building.
Ms. Alexander is imploring the general public to exhibit more awareness and to become advocates against the scourge of child abuse. She stressed that we must provide a haven for our children.
The book focuses on creating awareness among younger audiences and teaching them about sexual abuse. It helps to mitigate the ignorance and stigma surrounding the issue.
The author also applauded the efforts of the Ministry of Social Development and Housing along with the Royal Grenada Police force as they recently launched the Special Victims Unit. This move will help in combating the issue of sexual violence.
