Judge Brett Kavanaugh, despite the recent sexual misconduct allegations and a very contentious hearing, has been confirmed as the next sitting judge on the US Supreme Court.
The 53-year old Kavanaugh was sown in by Supreme Court Justice, John Roberts on Saturday evening.
On the Senate floor, the nominee was confirmed by a 50 to 48 margin.
The swearing in was not without its vocal opponents as many protested outside the court building on Capitol Hill, venting their frustration.
Many liberals believe that with the conservative Kavanaugh now on the bench, many of their freedoms or their fight for equality can be repealed or blocked.
