Dominica Gets Multi-million Dollar Aid From China
On Monday, October 29th, Dominica and China signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement valued at approximately EC$120 million dollars.
The monies will be used for several projects on the island, which is still recovering from the devastating Hurricane Maria last year. Several schools will be reconstructed as well as a new hospital will be built in the Goodwill community.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerritt wholeheartedly thanked the Chinese Ambassador Lun Kun for the generous aid and also pledged Dominica’s support of the country, especially the One China policy.
The Chinese Diplomat said that the agreement should open a new page for the China-Dominica friendship and cooperation.
