Trinidadians Financing ISIS
Two Trinidadian men have been sanctioned by the United States for being financiers of the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Emraan Ali and Eddie Aleong have been accused of providing various means of support to ISIS fighters in the country of Syria.
The men’s properties and assets have been frozen by US authorities as they continue their investigations.
The US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, says the men were involved in money transfers from Trinidad and Tobago to Syria since January 2017.
