Suspected Cholera In The Dominican Republic
There have been several confirmed cases of cholera in the Dominican Republic.
The Health Ministry has confirmed that there is the presence of cholera samples taken from several residents, in the Province of Independencia.
There have been four confirmed cases and another 91 suspected cases from the area, causing much concern for the health ministry. The area has recorded more than double the national average, for suspected cholera cases.
The authorities have requested support from the Ministry of National Health and humanitarian organisations, including the Dominican Red Cross.
