Bishop Charles’ Final Farewell
The 3rd Bishop of the Diocese of St. George’s, Sydney Anicetus Charles was laid to rest yesterday, Friday 28th, September at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception.
Those who paid tributes to the late Bishop remembered him for his warmth and love of not only God but the people as well.
The service of the clergy was not always easy, but many remembered Bishop Charles as one who was humble, always taking charge of his duties and never speaking ill of those who opposed him or his beliefs.
Despite a sad atmosphere, there was no weeping at the passing of the Bishop, because many are of the view that was not something the Bishop would have wanted.
After the service, the Bishop’s body was entombed beneath the church in a crypt, where a final prayer and blessing was spoken.
