THE CARIBBEAN DEMOCRAT UNION (CDU) have created a youth organization called the Caribbean Youth Democrat Union
The Caribbean Democrat Union (CDU), created a youth organization called the Caribbean Youth Democrat Union (CYDU).
According to a press release from earlier today, ‘The CYDU is committed to creating a space for youth participation in politics and decision making and strongly believes in advancing good governance, transparency, accountability and democracy throughout the Caribbean region.’
Belize, Turks and Caicos, St. Lucia, Grenada and the St. Vincent and Grenadines are amongst some of the countries represented at the CDU.
Recently they elected new executive members to form the CYDU including 2 members from Grenada.
The new CYDU executive for the 2018/2019 term consist of:
Chair – Mr. Johnny Calliste, New National Party (NNP), Grenada
Deputy Chair (Women and Minorities) – Ms. Sherline Gittens, United Workers Party (UWP), St. Lucia
Deputy Chair (Training/Outreach/Recruitment) – Mr. Luchiano Dupuis, Dominica Freedom Party (DFP), Dominica
Treasurer – Mr. Omar Hodge, Peoples Action Movement PAM), St. Kitts and Nevis
Secretary General/PRO – Mr. Willan Alexander, New National Party (NNP), Grenada
