BARBADOS LABOUR PARTY’S, Mia Mottley, defeats DLP to become Barbados’ first female Prime Minister.


52-year-old lawyer, Mia Amor Mottley, made history on May 24th after successfully winning the Barbados’ General Election, becoming the first female PM of Barbados.

Mottley led the Barbados Labour Party to victory with an incredible clean sweep of 30-0. The now former Prime Minister, Freundel Stuart, took full responsibility for his party’s failure to win another term.

Mottley was shown an immense amount of support including endorsement from Bajan superstar, Rihanna who showed her support for Mottley on social media.
