Travel Ban And Frozen Accounts For Opposition Leader In Venezuela
In a new development in the continuing political turmoil in Venezuela, the Supreme Court moved to ban Opposition leader Juan Guaido travel outside the country as well as to freeze his bank accounts.
The court head Maikel Moreno said that the decision is in light of a preliminary investigation to investigate his role in the current protests. Moreno said he caused harm to peace in the republic.
Protests have been held across the country since Maduro began his second term on January 10th. Reports from the United Nations said that at least 40 persons have died and hundreds arrested since protests began.
