Antigua PM Accuses Telecoms Companies Of “Raping” Local Customers
Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua in blistering comments made on the weekend, accused Telecommunications giant Digicel and Flow of what he called “exploitative” pricing in their services.
He accused the entities of “raping” the Antigua and Barbudan people with their high cost.
Digicel in response however, denied the accusation saying that comments made by the Prime Minister were inaccurate and in turn accused the leader of the country of trying to stifle the telecommunications market so that the state owned Antigua Public Utilities Authority APUA, can then benefit.
They are currently seeking a meeting with the Prime Minister, but it is unclear if the Prime Minister will facilitate.
