Back To The Negotiating Table
The Grenada Union of Teachers has called off strike action for Tuesday 27th November. This temporary halt to the ongoing strike action in recent weeks is to facilitate a meeting with the Acting Minister of Labour, Anthony Boatswain.
In a release by the Unions, it was revealed that Bishop Clive Harvey intervened in the situation coupled with the discontinuation of the Arbitration process by the government. The Unions have asked their members to return to work as normal on Tuesday, November 27th at the same time when Union heads will meet with the Minister Boatswain to continue discussions on the Public Sector Pension and Gratuity.
WPG10 spoke to President of the Grenada Union of Teachers, Lydon Lewis, who stated that continuing industrial actions will hinge on the outcome of said meeting.
