Severe Flooding In Trinidad
“A national disaster” was echoed by Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, after several days of rain, left severe flooding across many sections of the country. He noted that key rescue personnel from the Coast Guard, police and National Guard were deployed to affected residents across the country.
Some of the hardest hit areas include Caroni, St Helena, Kelly Village and Las Lomas where high levels of water make the areas impassable.
Dr Rowley said he will ask for the approval of TT$25 million initially to assist persons most affected. He made this declaration while he toured some of the affected areas with other key officials.
