Pompeo Blasts Cuba For UN Protests
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has blasted Cuba for their recent protests at the United Nations.
He called it a “childish temper tantrum” as the Cuban delegation protested a special presentation by U.S. Ambassador Kelley E. Currie entitled “jailed for what?”
This new campaign by the US seeks to shed light on the island’s political prisoners and the intolerance that Cuban authorities exhibit when faced with political opposition.
On Tuesday, Pompeo said that he had written a letter to U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres inquiring of measures to be taken to ensure that these actions don’t happen again.
