LIAT Proposes Stiff Measures For Employees
The shareholders and executives of the Leeward Islands Air Transport LIAT, is imposing some tough measures on its employees as the airline charts a way forward.
At a recent meeting between regional trade unions representatives and airline officials, the regional airline proposed a salary freeze for the next three years for its employees and a performance-based reward system where employees will be compensated based on their performance. The performance-based pay will also include a six-month review appraisal.
Chief Executive Officer of LIAT, Julie Reifer-Jones, said that all stakeholders have to agree on the proposed changes, ensuring that the company maintains its viability in the long run.
