First Ever Liver Transplant In Jamaica
Jamaica has witnessed its first ever liver transplant.
A team of doctors from Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in Delaware State performed the operations on a 13-month-old boy, Zaiden and a 16-month-old boy, Kayon.
The operations were performed in Kingston late last week.
Stephen Dunn, head of the American Doctor’s team, said the transplants would add decades to the children’s lives and mentioned Zaiden, with whose case, would have been “dead in the next few days” if he didn’t have the surgery.
