China Opens World’s Longest Sea Bridge

China has finally finished construction on the longest sea bridge in the world.

The bridge will link Hong Kong and Macau to the mainland China city of Zhuhai and measures a whopping 22 miles. The bridge took nine years to construct and is considered one of China’s greatest engineering achievements.

Traffic will officially be allowed to cross from Wednesday, October 24th, with some bus services scheduled to run at that time.

It is estimated that travel time will be cut from 3 hours to just 30 minutes with the introduction of the bridge.
